Trixie watched in astonishment as after a brief moment of a flash of light, Kirika had completely swapped from her casual clothing to some different kind of outfit and adorned an eye patch. Needless to say, Trixie was impressed, especially with the appearance of her claws, “That is impressive and you say you can do more?”
she once more shook her head, “Sorry, Trixie does not. If you have a picture or something you can share with her likeness, Trixie will keep an eye out for her.”
As soon as she heard her mention ‘picture’, Kirika glanced down at her pocket. Desperately, she reached into it, frantically digging.
It was still there.
Kirika yanked the object from her pocket, revealing it to be a locket made of copper, engraved with vines. Oriko had given it to her before… She flicked it open- the picture was still in perfect condition.
“Oriko looks like this,” Kirika presented, hoping for a different response the second time. “And for me to be able to show my other ability,” she began, “you’d need to show me some of yours first.”
Trixie carefully watched as the young girl dug through her pocket, nearly in a panic. This Oriko girl must be someone of great importance if she’s looking so hard for just a picture. She refrains from making any comments as she studied Kirika’s face. She was clearly worried and upset by the possibility of her picture missing. Her face was contorted and eyes open wide. It hurt Trixie to see her so worried, understanding what it would be like to lose something so precious. Let alone someone precious missing in action.
Seeing her pull the locket out caused relief to wash over herself and almost heave a sigh of relief for her. She studied the locket. It was a beautiful and ornate looking in its simple design. As Kirika opened the locket, she leaned in closer to get a better look at the photo of Oriko. She carefully studied her likeness and features. Sadly it was no one she’s ever seen before, but she would keep to her word in keeping her eye out, “She looks pretty. Trixie laments that she has never seen her before. She promises if she sees her, she’ll tell her you have been looking or her.”
Her head nodded and eyes sparkled with confidence as she looked up at Kirika, “Some of Trixie’s magic eh?” she smirked practically brimming with confidence, “Trixie can do that. Watch and be amazed by the Great and Powerful Trixie!”
Her hands began to glow with a pale blue light surrounding them. With each passing second the glow becomes more and more intense. With a few flourishes of her hands her body begins to radiate with the same glow. And almost in an instant before Kirika’s eyes, two other Trixies began to almost ‘sprout off’ from her. One to her left and one to her right. The three Trixies shoot a playful smile and all three begin to speak in unison, “Is this satisfactory for you? Or does Trixie need to get more advanced with her craft?”
Kirika casually smiled, something she rarely ever tried to do. “Thank you,” she said softly. She was genuinely glad that this girl was on her side.
She watched in awe at the glowing blue light. Glancing around in true surprise, she stared back down at Trixie. In a flash, the other girl split into three. Kirika was astounded.
“…Wow, impressive… but do you have any… offensive illusions, I wonder?” Kirika asked with a small smirk beginning to form.
“No need to thank Trixie, she knows what it is like to have someone you care for go missing and be lost.”
The Trixies took one step forward and paused. They hold their hands outward and flashed Kirika a wide grin, “Trixie has all sorts of illusions under her belt. She does have some offensive ones, though she hasn’t had a reason yet to use them.”
“Is that so? Well, try out one of your offensive ones on me,” Kirika requested, stepping back a few feet and opening her arms wide, submissive to being a target.
